Newtocairo Newtocairo

From sushi to barbecue, Japanese and Korean cuisines share the spotlight at Gaya. The restaurant is popular with Korean expats; a definite indication the food is authentic. With minimal decor, the colorful dishes and flavorful aromas take center stage. The fried kimchi and dark miso soup, packed with seaweed and fresh tofu (made daily), are top-rated. Try your hand at cooking: Order the Korean BBQ and cook up a favored dish using grills at your table. Local beer and wines are served. Yum.

Exceptional Chinese/ Korean cuisine. This is another place where you could assemble a meal just from the appetizers offered, but don't fill up on those or you'll miss some of the excellent main dishes available. The service has always been good and timely and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to customers. Parking can sometimes be difficult in this neighborhood but can always be found, even if a short walk away from the restaurant. If you enjoy tofu, it's available fresh most days (after 4pm!) for take away, and only 5LE!
