By far the best Thai food in Cairo, Bua Khao is definitely worth a visit. I have to admit, my husband and I are 'regulars'. We sit at the same table and have the same waiter every visit. The service is great, food is fast and you get large portions for a reasonable price. Try the vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay and sizzling shrimp (you can have anything made to your spice/heat level). The music and the addition of the flat screen TV can be distracting. I often will ask the server to change the music selection to something more appropriate. I have also used Buo Khao's home delivery. Often the phone line is busy, so have to call back multiple times (I wish they were listed on Otlob.com!). Delivery is quick, but a few times I have had to re-heat the food.

Bua Khao has been around for at least a decade now which says very much about its repeat business. It's a small restaurant with so so decor but with a certain charm serving traditional Thai dishes. They serve local beer and wine. The service is good and the food is served relatively fast ... so if you're hungry, there isn't much of a wait after you order. It's not the best Thai food I have had but the value for money at Bua Khao is bang on ... you can dine there for less than most Maadi restaurants of a similar caliber.

Bua Khao is a small restaurant with a BIG variety of tasty food cooked with traditional Thai mixtures of spices, herbs and fresh vegetables that are sure to satisfy anyone's taste buds. So if you are in the mood for spicy beef, chicken, fish or just some tasty rice and vegetables and a nice cold beer, Bua Khao is sure to have just what you are looking for.
