I enjoy having my morning coffee there; it is the perfect place to make friends. I have been in Egypt for quite some time, and tried learning arabic more than once, the Berlitz classes at CSA are very useful, I can finally say some words, the cost is another thing that is amazing, a Berlitz class costs way more than what I paid for at CSA. The gym is not the best, but it has everything you need if you are not a pro.

CSA is the place to go if you are feeling like you just fell off the face of the earth and landed in Alien territory. The staff at CSA are truly equipped to answer any question that could possibly have with respect to what to do, where to go, who to ask. They are perhaps the most established expatriate organization in all of Egypt. They offer something for everyone. Be sure and pick up their monthly magazine which includes a day to day calendar of events along with much, much more useful information. It should be one of your very 1st stops when relocating to Cairo.

CSA is a very helpful place for anyone new to Cairo. The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a bulletin board located outside the building with a variety of listings for and from expats. Such listings include items for sale (furniture, cars, pets), services (maid, driver, nanny), as well as community announcements (churches, sports leagues). I find this bulletin board extremely helpful and have had much luck with it. Also if you don't feel like cooking, every Sunday and Thursday you can buy delicious home-made food during "Cook's Day Off". There is a variety of international cuisines (the Thai cuisine is excellent). Prices are much less than what you would pay in a restaurant. The food is pre-cooked, so you will have to re-heat. Make sure to arrive early, as the selections get picked through very quickly.

I enjoy working out at CSA's fitness center. The volunteer staff is friendly and the fitness center is very clean. Most of the cardio machines are old, but it seems they update and add machines throughout the year. They recently added seven flat screen TV's, so you can now plug in your headphones and watch/listen to your favorite shows while you work out! The gym is very busy between 7:00am - 11:00am weekly. During busy hours, you are limited to 30 minutes per cardio machine. Power outages seem to happen almost 'daily' in Egypt, so many times I arrive in the morning to no power and no air conditioning. CSA also offers group fitness classes. Only a few classes are included in your membership, all others are an additional fee per class. $375 for a one-year membership (great price - less than $1 per day) and you are allowed a 60-day "freeze" option.

I love CSA. It is not only a great place to go and hang out but they offer so many services at very reasonable prices that you can always find something interesting to do. All the staff are very friendly and have loads of local information. There is an onsite location of Cafe Greco as well (for those who don't know Cafe Greco they serve the best coffee in Egypt) as well as a very well equipped gym. Recently they have partnered up with Berlitz the language learning company and offer the best and fastest way to learn colloquial Arabic. My kids have taken ballet classes there and I know from them that they really loved it. To summarize CSA is a friendly place with lots of interesting things to do, knowledgeable smiling staff and the best coffee in Egypt. What are you waiting for?

Excellent place for foreigners... You might find people from your country and spend really good time in CSA. I went there to Arabic courses as well. They have nice classrooms and teachers.

The unique thing that CSA offers is Arabic courses for foriegners... The nice thing about these courses is that they are in Ammeya, that is the spoken Arabic by Egyptians not the Fosha formal written arabic. This definitly helps someone to learn the REAL language we are speaking not the language on the papers.
