Au Petit Bistro is a quaint little French restaurant hidden away in Dokki close to the Shooting Club. Parking there can be very difficult and some people just leave their cars in the street with the result that the traffic jams up even more. As we were leaving it took us more than 45 minutes just to clear the area. The restaurant is small and I would estimate can seat no more than max 30-40 guests. We were a large group eating so we all had pre-selected menus and I was very pleasantly surprised. I had heard good things about this restaurant and I was not disappointed. We had an appetizer sampler with foie grass, thinly sliced raw meat (kind of like carpaccio) and various other delicacies. I ate heartily and thoroughly enjoyed everything. For the main course my friend had the chicken which on the menu sounded very delicious but in reality did not look nice at all and judging from his expression was also not what he had expected. I ordered the steak and it was amazing. Thick and cooked just the way I had asked medium-rare with a nice warm red center. Yummy. For dessert I had the apple tart and it was a real French apple tart with the thin crust with cinnamon ice cream and once again I (guiltily) finished my entire portion. The bathrooms are small but clean and all in all it was a good experience. If it had not been for my friends miss with the chicken I would have given it 5 stars but now I will stick with 4.
