About Canadian International School
Canadian International School of Egypt:
The Canadian International School of Egypt is home to students from junior kindergarten to grade 12. Graduation from CISE provides its students with the Canadian "Ontario Secondary School Diploma," as the school is registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education in Canada. The education curriculum is delivered identically as if the school were sitting in Toronto or in Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
CISE teachers are Canadian with Canadian university degrees; they are graduates of Canadian Teachers Colleges and are members of the Ontario College of Teachers. The Egyptian Ministry of Education has certified CISE to provide an Ontario, Canadian education in Egypt. CISE is listed in the Egyptian Directory of Acceptance into Universities and Colleges.
Canadian education is ranked within the top three systems offered the world and first in English speaking countries. CISE students are accepted to universities all over the world. Last year’s graduates are presently studying Political Science, Engineering and Science in Ottawa, Commerce in Toronto and Sociology in Montreal, Management in Glion and Hospitality in Les Roches, Switzerland, and finance at the American University in Cairo. Three students are studying medicine in Cairo at Ain Shams University, 6th of October and MUST. This year’s graduates have already been accepted early to programs such as International Development and Professional Writing at York University, Engineering at University of Toronto and Waterloo University, home of the Blackberry, and Business Management in England and Dubai. Several have been offered university entrance scholarships, some valued at USD 20,000.00. One of our students has been invited to apply for the President’s Award Scholarship at a Canadian university and one has been awarded a prestigious Arts Scholarship for Music at AUC.
Elementary School:
Parents choose CISE Elementary School because CISE provides a proven, safe, clean and caring learning environment. This means small classes, differentiated learning in classrooms that address individual needs and learning styles, supportive, understanding teachers and an open administration. Students have the choice to follow a full Ontario curriculum French Immersion program, or to study in English with daily French and Arabic classes. The library is fully booked daily with the Canadian trained librarian offering an enrichment program with focus on literacy. Literacy, numeracy and scientific inquiry are the primary focus of the Ontario curriculum.
The road to independent learning starts in primary school. Students have responsibility for managing their class preparation, for learning to listen, follow instructions, and respect their classmates. Parents are requested to actively support teachers in developing these important skills. Canadian elementary teachers are trained to provide dynamic challenging lessons specifically designed to inspire curiosity and thirst for knowledge within a careful framework of routine. Their integrity and warmth provides an excellent role model for children. All this happens in a very attractive campus setting. You are invited to take a school tour and see our children laughing and learning.
Secondary School:
Parents look to CISE Secondary School to provide their students with world class senior physics, chemistry, calculus, social science, economics and business classes in which students are taught to research, analyze, question, develop informed opinions, to problem solve and ultimately become responsible for their own learning management. They have opportunity to study English, French and Arabic at university entrance level. The halls are lively; our students are spontaneous and take part in varsity sports, international robotics and mathematics competitions, and environment and social awareness clubs and United Nations mock parliament. The Senior Social Science class is planning its trip to Renaissance Italy. CISE provides all secondary students with a weeklong instructional "School without Borders"; to learn about culture in Egypt.
