Dr. Tarek Maamoun is classified as one of the top 1% ophthalmologists worldwide according to the International Council of Ophthalmology’s clinical skills assessment. Currently Dr. Tarek Maamoun is a professor of ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
Through his work in the Ophthalmology Department at Ain Shams University; Dr. Tarek Maamoun has performed thousands of successful operations as well as provided training for aspiring young doctors. Dr. Tarek has also supervised numerous medical scientific researches & masters & doctorate theses in the field of ophthalmology.
He has also participated in many specialized scientific conferences, where he presented various research cases & training sessions; not to mention his numerous publications in this field.
One of his most important achievements is creating an atlas CD of ophthalmology surgery; now considered the primary surgical reference for postgraduate students.
