About Pasta Republic Restaurant & Cafe
A tiny piece of Italy in the middle of round-the-clock buzzy 9 Street in Maadi, Pasta Republic is a place that will definitely be appreciated by all Italian cuisine lovers.
Indeed, it is difficult not to fall in love with this place: firstly, the location is convenient especially to those coming here by metro (Sakanat El Maadi station), secondly, the décor is cozy and inviting, and, finally, the food is out-of-this-world delicious.
But first things first…
Pasta Republic’s interior reflects the spirit of Italy in each and every detail. Wooden ceiling, big chandeliers, stonewalls and an intricate combination of brown, yellow, green and maroon give this place a sophisticated yet homey feel; whereas small plants and photos of this warm country literally transfer you to one of its tiny villages by the Mediterranean.
The music is a mix of Italian and international hits (with English, Italian and Spanish flavors prevailing), whereas the food is unbeatable in taste, color and authenticity.
Going through their long menu with juicy names and mouth-watering ingredients, I opted for the healthy and vitamin-rich Grilled Vegetarian Salad (zucchini, carrots, eggplant and tomatoes marinated in pesto sauce and rich olive oil), plus a steamy portion of tantalizing Cream of Seafood (richly filled with calamari and shrimp); whereas my companion decided to stick to pizza options, choosing Molisana (pepperoni, black olives, onions and mozzarella) with an extra meat topping.
Still having room for the main course, I decided to give their Salmon Fillet a try and was not disappointed. Juicy and tender, it was served with a generous portion of buttery mashed potatoes* that melted in the mouth.
Their pasta dishes were yet another asset, as the clients were invited to create their own combinations. All you had to do was to choose between penne, spaghetti, farfalle, fusilli or tagliatelle; smooth it all with a sauce (butter, olive oil, cream, pesto, tomato or rosè) and top the mixture with either meat balls, sun dried tomatoes, four cheeses or other options on the menu.
The desserts were also a great hit, particularly the yummy Cheese Cake with blueberries and the fabulous Chocolate Fountain with Ice Cream; while their selection of hot and cold beverages were able to satisfy such spoilt clients as ourselves.
Thanking the friendly staff, we have promised to come back and we will surely do so, considering the fact that there are many other items waiting to be explored.
