About El Gharbeya
The governorate of El Gharbeya is on the delta of the Nile River. Its capital, Tanta, is Egypt’s fifth largest city and is best known for the making of sweets consumed during the moulids (festivals). Similar to other governorates of the area, the primary industries are agriculture and textiles.
