About El Beheira
The coastal governorate of El Beheira, 135 km from Cairo, is one of the largest in Egypt. The main cities are Damanhur (the capital), Wadi el Natrun and Rosetta. A wealth of historical sites and Coptic churches can be found in Rosetta. The Holy Family is said to have made a stop in Wadi el Natrun (valley of the salt lakes) during its flight.
