The South Sinai resort of Dahab is a world –renowned location for windsurfing and kitesurfing due to its outstanding wind statistics and impressive choice of different sailing areas that cater for every ability level and sailing disciple.
The three Harry Nass centres (catering for both windsurfing and kitesurfing) are considered market leaders within the industry and offer an exceptionally high standard of equipment and service at very competitive prices. Centre owner Harry Nass is based in Dahab and has over 30 years experience in the windsurfing industry having previously owned a successful centre in Turkey. Harry bought his first Dahab centre in 1995 immediately doubling the size of the facility to become a world-class competitor. In 2004 a second centre was created due to popular demand and in 2008 a third centre will be created. Each centre is personally overseen by Harry and his wife Elke but is also run on a daily basis by very friendly Egyptian team.
The centres operate a very clever ‘fixed board’ system. Although each client has a board which is theirs alone to use for the duration of the holiday they are encouraged to try other boards within the JP range to ensure they get the most out of their time on the water. The centres never sell to their maximum capacity thus ensuring plenty of spare boards and sails to test drive!
Each centre also has an outstanding lesson structure in place offering a multitude of courses from complete beginner to advanced wave sailing for both windsurfing and kitesurfing. Coaching courses are overseen by the talented Rob Horne who is a JP/Neil Pryde sponsored sailor with over 15 years teaching experience, ensuring clients are in good hands. A team of instructors operate under Rob’s critical eye to ensure the centre maintains it high teaching standards. Courses are offered in a variety of languages to ensure client satisfaction and comfort and are extremely flexible in their structure to suit the wind and tide conditions and also the individual client requirements. The well-received German SURF magazine commented that the Rob Horne clinics are probably the best method of teaching currently available in the world! (July 2007).
Other ammenities available at the centres include a complimentary shuttle bus for all clients to use at their leisure between the three centres and all the hotels, a clothing collection created by the Harry Nass brand, and a photo/video service to capture the best parts of their clients’ holidays.
