As owner of Colona Watersports, the first dedicated kiteboarding centre in Egypt, I am proud to introduce you to some of the water sports available on the stunning Red Sea.

Established in 2002, our centres in Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh offer a wide range of activities to suit every age. With qualified instructors, turquoise waters, perfect learning and training areas, and fantastic conditions, not to mention long sandy beaches and friendly atmosphere, what better time or place to try something new?

Kitesurfing is the latest and greatest water sport that has seen a huge increase in popularity in recent years all over the world, much thanks to advances in equipment, safety and technology.

A mixture of surfing, wakeboarding and power-kiting this sport is challenging, exhilarating and above all fun!  Sure, it’s an extreme sport with high jumps and fast moving tricks where the adrenalin pumps, but the basics can be learnt with only a few lessons. After completing a basic course you could be up and riding on your own; a qualified kiteboarder!

Easy to get the hang of you can soon progress to new levels. Whether you want to learn tricks, slalom style, jumps or just enjoy the exhilaration of being towed by the boat, the calm, flat, warm waters of the Red Sea are perfect for this exciting sport.

Similar to water skiing but with a single, snowboard type board attached to your feet. Easy to get up out of the water once the boat sets off, the wake board offers great flexibility in manoeuvring. You can twist, turn, jump, flip…name it. A very creative sport which never fails to put a smile on your face!
